How to reach us
Hamburg’s only airport ‘Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel’ is located North of the city centre. A taxi ride from the airport to our school takes approx. 30 minutes.
Alternatively, you can take the S1 train from the airport in the direction of “Wedel”. You will need to get off at station “Klein Flottbek”. From there you can either take an attractive 10-15min walk along Hesten and Max Emden Weg, between the Botanical Gardens and the Polo Club (note that there is no access to the school through the Botanical Gardens). Or board the N21 bus in the direction of “Niendorf Nord”. In that case you will need to get out at the 2nd stop “Hemmingstedter Weg”, which is located at a roundabout. From there it takes a 5min walk to get to ISH. Total transit time from the airport is about 1hr. Total transit time to ISH from the main train station, which is enroute, is an estimated 40min.
Other popular ways of reaching ISH from points in the city are the 283 bus line, which also serves the stop “Hemmingstedter Weg”, or any bus line that serves the nearby Elbe Einkaufszentrum (shopping mall).
We highly recommend the use of the DB Navigator App for mobile devices, which is convenient for planning trips by trains and other public transport.
In case you visit us by car, we recommend avoiding the usual rush hours in the morning and afternoon. Please feel free to use the spacious parking lot in front of the school.
